
Lori found her way to Arizona in 1993. The Sonoran Desert stole her heart and triggered the move to Arizona. Those wide open spaces…That incredible light.
Lori Coue’s intense love for the land has
inspired her paintings of today.
Her distinct artistic viewpoint is
both uplifting and fresh.
Her paintings depict the fragility
of the Southwest while capturing the coloration and intensity of the
landscape.
Painting is the outlet of her
self-expression.
Lori’s mediums of choice are
watercolor and oil.
Being
self-taught is what Lori is most proud of.
She has created her own unique
style that is totally her own.
She has spent many hours in her
studio painting the flowers, wildlife and landscape of the beautiful
Sonoran Desert.
Lori’s
artwork has been exhibited across Arizona and in British Columbia.
Lori has been a host studio and
exhibiting artist at the Annual Hidden in the Hills Studio Tour.
Other shows include; The Sonoran
Festival of Fine Art; The Thunderbird Fine Art Festival; The South
Coast Fine Arts Festival.
She has hung her work at Eileen’s
Gallery in Carefree AZ, Treasures of Fine Art Gallery and her studio
in Scottsdale.
Lori is currently hanging her work
at the Fountain Hills Artist Gallery located in Fountain Hills and
Whatcom Art Guild Market on Washington St.
Lori
won the Award of Excellence at the national 50th anniversary of the
National Water Color Association in 2010 and her watercolor placed
in the top three at the Radisson Show in 2009.
Lori’s work had taken awards in
2005, 2008, and 2009 at the Fountain Hills Juried Art Show.
These days Lori can be found working in her studio in Rio Verde, Arizona by her cats Mukluk and Eskimo.
