I grew up in a small Midwestern farming community. After high school, I went to St Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota where I earned a BA in Mathematics. I have subsequently attended the MBA program at the University of Chicago and the Certified Financial Planner program at Boston University. After college, I joined Burroughs Corporation ( subsequently merged with Sperry Rand to become Unisys Corp.) in Chicago as a systems analyst. For 5 years, after a stint in the Navy Air Reserve, I installed the early mainframe computer systems in financial institutions around the Midwest. I entered mainframe computer sales in Chicago in 1968. Mary and I lived in Arlington Heights, Ill. We have moved with the company to the Detroit World Headquarters, to Baltimore/Washington DC, back to Detroit, and finally to Boston where I retired in 2000 after 38 years in sales, sales management, and marketing positions.
I have been an avid amateur photographer for many years and have traveled all over the world, always taking pictures. In retirement, I have begun to experiment with dimensional photography (my terminology) and printing large photographic files on canvas. My inspiration for dimensional photography was some work I had seen by a photographer at the Vail, Colorado Art Fair about six years ago. Mary and I,, for the past four years, have spent our winters in Fountain Hills, AZ
