Lynn Strolin calls upon the elements of earth, air, water and fire to bring forth La Loba Creations. Through the ancient art of lampworking, she creates glass beads, capturing light in glass with fire. Lynn warms and coaxes nuggets, rods, powders, and threads of glass to accept her vision as she blends the elements into miniature masterpieces. Even when similar, each bead is "of the moment," and an individual work of beauty and light. Flowing the glass from solid to molten is a meditative experience for Lynn. Her artist's eye appreciates the innate qualities of the glass, as she creates form and texture by blending the clear and opaque, neutral and bright into singular forms of beauty. Precious Metal Clay, a malleable clay-like substance which become .999% pure silver or gold when fired, offers Lynn additional, design options. Its versatility inspires the creation of spirited and intricate jewelry. Many of her designs are delicately textured forms found in nature, captured with careful detailing in precious metal. These silver or gold pieces often serve as a counterpart or enhancement to the handcrafted glass beads in her jewelry.
La Loba Creations recently introduced the Signature Series: As handwriting is like a face or our speech, the series preserves a treasured signature by transforming it into jewelry. These precious metal designs celebrate a life or a special occasion. Each piece is a collaborative commission between artist and client. Experience as a Special Education teacher and administrator along with a desire to share her current gifts, Lynn is an inspiring teacher and mentor She has completed a certification to teach this form of working with precious metals and regularly attends International Society of Glass Beadmakers Instructors Seminars. Lynn takes joy from knowing she is guiding others to discover their own innate creativity through artistic expression. Like the ever changing reflections of light, La Loba Creations are manifestations of the new horizons and insights of the artist.
