Originally from central Texas, I’ve finally found a place to call home here in the Southwest. Creating art has become an essential part of my life, and I find it nearly impossible to limit myself to just one medium. The beauty of this landscape—the colors, textures, and spirit of the desert—feeds my imagination every day. Each piece I create reflects my deep connection to the land I love.

I work with gourds as my primary canvas, transforming them into masks, baskets, handbags, and other sculptural art forms. Each gourd is unique, shaped by nature itself, and I bring it to life through pyrography, carving, dyes, paints, beads, precious stones, and feathers. My art is a blend of tradition and exploration, celebrating the organic beauty of the Southwest. While I’m best known for my Kachinas and masks, I often say I don’t have a true specialty—because the possibilities within this medium are endless.

I’m inspired by the vastness and wonder of the Southwest—the rugged landscapes, brilliant skies, and earthy colors that seem to hum with life. Every gourd I work with feels like a small gift from nature, waiting to be transformed. I love the challenge of bringing out its character and story through texture and design. Creating art is how I stay connected to this place I now call home—it’s a joyful, evolving journey that keeps my spirit grounded and inspired.
