Holyce McIntire

I am originally from Colorado, but in 2021 I moved to Arizona and quickly found my destiny—photographing the wild horses that roam here. Horses have always been in my blood. As an adult, I worked as a wrangler at my family’s spa and resort in New Mexico, deepening that lifelong bond. My journey as a photographer began back in the days of darkrooms and Minoltas, when I first picked up a camera and just started shooting. Over the years, I refined my skills, upgraded through several lenses, and built a body of work that feels like home to me: a gallery of images that capture the untamed beauty of Arizona.

I specialize in photographing the wild horses of Arizona, creating prints that capture both their spirit and the rugged landscapes they inhabit. My gallery of work reflects years of dedication, patience, and reverence for these animals. While the horses remain at the heart of my art, Arizona continues to reveal more to me—its deserts, skies, and wildlife offering endless opportunities to create.
